Total Racing Europe 'Arrive & Drive' Season 1: Evo v Impreza Championship Empty Total Racing Europe 'Arrive & Drive' Season 1: Evo v Impreza Championship

Post by EighteeN O FivE Sat 16 Feb 2013, 11:57 pm

Welcome to the inaugural series of the Total Racing Europe Evo v Impreza Championship!

Over the coming weeks we will be racing against each other in these two classic AWD cars from 2004. The action will be tense, very close and above all exciting and fun. The series lasts for 8 circuits in total, consisting of 16 rounds so there is plenty of racing to be had! So join in, get your personalised car and hit the track with your fellow club members in what is surely to be an excellent series to kick 2013 off with!

    Circuit List & Event Information:

At each circuit visited, two rounds will be held - The first being on average twice the length of the second. In race 1 the grid order shall be randomised. This cuts the need for qualifying as not everyone has time to qualify, (we're pushing an hour for two races as it is) and also avoids arguments over who starts where. In this race, a mandatory pit stop is required; however the pit window will not open until you reach lap 8. When you choose to pit after the window opens is up to you.

Race 1 will last for approximately 30 minutes. Following a 5-10 minute break the second race will begin. The second race is a sprint race lasting around 15 minutes. In this race you are not required to make a pit stop. Should you need to, feel free to do so. Race 2 will also feature a reverse grid order, meaning whoever won race 1 will start from the back for race 2.

The Track List is as Follows:
    Nurburgring Full - Round 1: 14 Laps
    Nurburgring Full - Round 2: 7 Laps

    Hockenheimring Full - Round 3: 14 Laps
    Hockenheimring Full - Round 4: 7 Laps

    Catalunya GP - Round 5: 16 Laps
    Catalunya GP - Round 6: 8 Laps

    Mugello Full - Round 7: 14 Laps
    Mugello Full - Round 8: 7 Laps

    Infineon Long - Round 9: 17 Laps
    Infineon Long - Round 10: 9 Laps

Bernese Alps Festival - Round 11: 16 Laps
Bernese Alps Festival - Round 12: 8 Laps

    Suzuka Full - Round 13: 13 Laps
    Suzuka Full - Round 14: 6 Laps

Mapel Valley Full - Round 15: 18 Laps
Mapel Valley Full - Round 16: 9 Laps

    Additional Information:
As far as tuning and upgrading goes this is not an option for either cars. You must use the tune available from my storefront. There are no parts on the cars that can adjusted, apart from the tyre pressures! This is the whole idea behind this championship - It's all about the driving!

All those who compete will be expected to follow simple track etiquette. This is a simple rule to enforce and a simple rule to follow. If you cut the corner and overtake, you have done so by gaining an unfair advantage. Following this you must give the place back. The rule is two wheels must be on the circuit at all times. (There are exceptions of course - Running wide, etc. - Acceptable as long as now unfair advantage is gained). If you push another driver off the track, you must give the place back - If this is repeated or done on purpose an investigation into the incident will happen. This can result in either loss of points through time penalties added after the race, a grid drop for the next week’s races or total removal from the results. Each have a different level of seriousness related to that of the incident. Respect the drivers around you; don't do anything knowing full well it won’t work. Risks are allowed; this is racing after all, but please be aware of those around you. If you ruin your own race, it's likely it's your fault - But it's unfair to ruin others in the process.

Regarding pit stops – Should you damage your vehicle to the extent it severely diminishes performance, pitting before the half way is allowed. Should you skip your pit stop all together, you shall be stripped of your points for that session, no excuses. It is a requirement, “I forgot” simply won’t cut it. It will be clear if you have skipped your pit stop as your race time will be significantly lower than those who have as a pit stop takes up approximately 30 seconds, depending on pit lane length.

    Points & Prizes
The points system for this series is one that allows all drivers to score points, no matter what their finishing position. The table works on averages, however to qualify for a prize finish then you must take part in the required number of races. Whilst I'm fully aware this may not be possible, we feel as though this system is more suited to the majority as everyone gets points, rather than saying - "Sorry, you missed a race, that's it, no points for you."

The points system work as follows:

    1st in the race = 25 points
    2nd in the race= 21 points
    3rd in the race = 18 points
    4th in the race = 15 points
    5th in the race = 12 points
    6th in the race = 11 points
    7th in the race = 10 points
    8th in the race = 9 points
    9th in the race = 8 points
    10th in the race = 7 points
    11th in the race = 6 points
    12th in the race = 5 points
    13th in the race = 4 points
    14th in the race = 3 points
    15th in the race = 2 points
    16th in the race = 1 points

Your total point score will be divided by the number of races you participated in. This is what will determine your overall finishing position at the end of the championship. Bear in mind however that if you do not enter the required number of races, which is 10 out if the 16, your finishing position will be lower than that of a member who does.

1 bonus point will be awarded to the driver who sets the fastest lap at the end of each race. Remember however, a clean lap (without triangle) will always beat a dirty lap (with triangle). If there are no clean laps set, the fastest dirty lap will be awarded the bonus point.

The results table will be posted in the second post after rounds one and two have been completed.

    Dates & Times:
The dates themselves are ever so slightly flexible. The races will be held on the Friday of each week (unless postponed or stated otherwise) until the championship ends. The lobby will be set up at 8:45pm GMT and the first race will commence at 9:00PM GMT. If you're not in the lobby and ready for said time, then I'm afraid the race will start without you and you will have to join in for the following round. This is not out of spite, but will avoid delays and keeping the evening running correctly.

Race Hard, Race Fair & Have Fun!
