    Hello everyone,

to start club's activity I offer the following challenge:

I've chosen a track, where everyone is able to improve his actual leaderboard time.

Hotlap Contest Sunset Full in A- Class.

    I'll gift prizes as follows:

Everyone who makes his way into the top100 a carpack of choice worth 1.000.000 cr.
    top1000 500.000 cr.
    top2000 350.000 cr.
    top5000 250.000 cr.
Everyone out of the 5000's will be given a solatium worth 30.000 cr of free choice.
You can choose any car / carpack you like except the last 3 monthly DLC- packs.

I also gift everyone who takes part in this event a fully tuned Lotus Elise B- Class car with the club's livery.

There are no restrictions, you can use any car and any tune. The only condition is, that the time must be set between today and the 5th of August 2012 23:59:59 h GMT.

Hopefully you have fun with this comp.

Hi Axel, thanks for suggesting this. Sounds good to me.

I'm a fairly mediocre driver and generally no threat to the top thousand positions or so on any class/track combination, but I enjoy a little hotlapping nonetheless!

I've just had a little crack at Sunset Full - A class with my Pantera, and set an inital time of around 1:39.3 which was good enough to put me around 5,600 on the boards. Hmmmm, shall see if I can whip out a more capable beast from my garage later to shave off another second or two... I'm positive the top 1,000 will be out of reach for me, but I'll be disappointed if I can't get into the top few thousand.

Cheers again for stumping up prizes for this opening event!

I think with the right car it is possible to reach the top1000 or top2000. I also think a contest should be not too easy and this one is a challenging one, but not too hard. With a little bit of effort everything is possible.

I tried the Opel Speedster (the same car as the Vauxhall VX220) build up to A600 but untuned and managed a 1:41:xxx. So I guess a 1:38 in a better car is possible at least.

I modified the comp a little bit, hehe. Prize reward is now new levelled.

    Very generous of you!
I shall take a crack at it later today, never been my favourite track but I have one or two A-Class cars I'm comfortable with, and that will let me see if anything more insane/specialized is needed...

Did a 4,959 (1.39.141) in bluesky's 190 Evo, which was a really well set up car.
Bit close to leave there until the 5th, so I'll have a crack at one of my own cars, which'll probably end badly...

Well, after countless laps today I think I'm about at my limit. I managed to shave half a second off my initial time the other night using my Aston Vantage, but finally cracked the 1.37 barrier earlier with a Cayman R. Final time of 1:36.657, which got me inside the top 1,300, but which I see is still a bit off the pace of Jim's lap. That was hard work, and I'm now pig sick of Sunset Full! Very Happy Thanks for the comp Axel. Hopefully some of the other club members will also join in.

I managed to get about 1100 on the leaderboard today. I should hopefully be able to sneak in the top 1000.

I'll post a couple of tunes I used next time I get on forza. One for a NSX and the other an Exige, both quick around this track.

I am glad to see you guys have fun with the competition. I don't know and understand why the other members don't register here. I've sent all of them an xbl message with the forum link. But on the other hand it saves me a lot of credits... Laughing

@ Ben: The Merc has a stock gearbox, so I can't tweak the gears. By the way, I managed a 1:38:9 in it and a 1:39:0 in my Lamborghini Diablo SV.

I've tried also the Acura NSX, but I am not satisfied with my tune at the moment.

@ Jim and Richard: You both must be joking by setting those 1:36-.5/6- tines. I guess, I can run a low 1:38, but then I will have reached my maximum. Great times until now.

I hopefully can send over the Elise tomorrow, still waiting for the livery of Mr. Antt.

    Cheers and thank you,

    Axel

Thanks for sorting out this opening comp Axel. I've had fun lapping the circuit, although found it very frustrating on occasion! The number of times I managed to screw up one corner or another on a hot lap - lucky the missues wasn't around or there'd have been hell to pay with the language coming from the living room! I too am puzzled why there are no other voices on the forum aside from yourself, Jim, Ben, Mr Antt and myself. Looking at the club in-game it seems we have 17 members at the minute. Would be great if more people would say hi.

If you don't object, I might launch another comp (not a hotlap event as such) to run as well - also with prizes. I might also make a post on the main forum (a bump) to try to persuade current members to come over to this forum - as we now have friendly competitions running! If we can get enough people being more active here, perhaps we can eventually arrange a lobby.

Feel free to offer whatever you want. Smile I am looking forward to it and the others too I think.
I don't have any hope that the other members will register here. As mentioned I was begging them to register and it is written in the fm.net- forum too.

You always can send me a lobby invite when you see me playing Forza and I guess Jim won't say no too.

I am thinking about planning a mixed race series (maybe 10 tracks and weekly changing car classes), but at the moment it doesn't make any sense planning and starting it with less than a handful of people.

Yes, I can feel with you about the Triangles of Death, they are lying in wait for catching you in many corners, especially in the first 3 ones. Fortunately i am a smooth tempered and relaxed guy. Otherwise I would need a new controller once a week. Razz

Those bloody chicanes! And after that there are some rather deceptively tight corners.
I would be happy with a time in the low 4.000s or high 3,000s as I'm competent rather than spectacular. I tried it in my fun car, 993 GT2, which I enjoyed but it isn't ultra competitive full stop, but especially on such a track. Bluesky, is it alright if I have your 190's benchmark figures? Smile

Naturally you can have the benchmark figures, but I can't post them because the measure units are different to the Uk ones. So I'll send you the tune tomorrow.

Here are some tunes I found that are good for this course (lets make Axel spend some of his hard earned credits Very Happy )

Honda NSX - tune by ZeraTuLLLL
its a bit slidy, definately needs TCS in my opinion. Great acceleration and speed though.

Lotus Exige 06 - tune by ARMIPOTENT ADAM
I downloaded this ages ago, so possibly it isn't available anymore. Great handling (for example you don't have to slow down for the first bend after the long straight). Top speed is slightly inhibited though.

Lotus Exige 06 - tune by Smoking an Poking
This is the tune I have my best time in. Slightly inferior handling to the tune above, but makes up for it with better top speed

Much room for improvement I think. I shall stick at it, but it's good wheel practice though!

Using the Akrapovic Acura NSX I have got a lap time of 1:38.215, giving me a place of 3,064 - only 30 behind Bluesky! To put me that close to Bluesky the NSX must be bleeding fast! I reckon I could get a 1:38 dead but that would be pretty much my limit. Will head out again before the comp ends - but I don't think I can get into the 2,000s. I know I've improved greatly on this track - and found a great A-Class car.

The car is easy enough, except the occasional corner exit slide - but with 447 bhp that's understandable!

I reccommend the tune - it's on the PRH shop SF and including the car is about 126,000cr. Well spent!

Well I'm in although I've just been acting like an idiot on the track. My brother was up for a visit and we played with the Ford Transit van and the Country Squire. The van actually managed a 1:42 but it apparently was dirty from the previous lap Evil or Very Mad . Still, it was better than we thought. Will try for real this week but I will be happy if I get below 1:40

A bloody van only 4 seconds behind an NSX! Great work, I don't want to think what'll happen when you get in a real car!

    Going for a 1.38.1 at least today - hopefully a 1.38 flat.

    Anyone got any tips?

Try the Exige car and tune I mentioned back on page 1. It's great on this track. Fast and light. You should be able to knock a bit more off your time Smile

You guys are quick! I've been using the 2-eleven, and the best I can do is 1:39.8. Still only showing 1:40 on leaderboards, so I must have went off somewhere. I don't think that 2-eleven has enough on the straights to be a serious competitor. Has anyone tried the Esprit?
