Need a tune for the F40LM Empty Need a tune for the F40LM

Post by Racerluc Wed 01 Aug 2012, 6:37 pm

I've made a paint job for my F40LM a while ago but never raced it (what a shame, I know)
Its just that I am not a very good tuner. The lower class cars are not a problem, it' s the R3, R2, and S class...
So if somebody can help me out here ?

L'll give it a go today. Which car is it exactly to exclude tuning the wrong car? The F40 competizione?
If it is this car, RWD only reaches R2 856, with a drive train swap to AWD it is exactly R2 875.
So please tell me if it is the car and which drivetrain you want to have in it.

    It is the F40 Competizione
AWD would be nice since I'm not a great driver Embarassed

The AWD system is from the FF. it will make the car heavy and understeery. The car's balance and springs have all been set up for RWD. Keep it that way...
In my opinion it will make it harder to drive, apart from right off the line.
If you find traction a big problem - use TCS.

I've sent you the AWD- tune.
It is not a blast, but fun to drive and easy to handle, even without tcs.
The tune is nunlocked, so you can change the braking power settings to your likes. I prefer a stronger break

But if you like I can do a RWD- tune too...

The springs may be designed for RWD, but they are adjustable, so I can't see the problems Ben mentioned.

I should have added they're adjustable, just probably not ideal out of the box.
Can someone suggest to me a 4WD car that drives as well as some of the RWD cars: NSX, 993 GT2, F40...?
    Could be personal taste but...

Have you ever tried to upgrade and tune the F40C?

If so, you should have noticed that a fully upgraded RWD- tune gives you a max PI of 856. With the AWD swap you'll be given a lot of more parts to build in, so you can reach 875 and compensate the heavier weight.

I've only ever driven it once, let alone bought it!
That's a good point, at the end of all that how much weight difference is there?

@luc I am appreciated that you like the tune. as I said before, it is no car to rock the leaderboards, but fun to drive.

@Ben: the weight difference between AWD and RWD is 130 or 150 kg (forgot it from the living room on my way to the kitchen Embarassed Very Happy ) with the same hp, but compensated by a better handling, a better balance and some better parts.
but to compare exactly I'll try to set up an RWD car.
